SMC Type VX2120 Solenoid Valve 1/8 Inch 2/2 Way 24V 110V 220V

VX2120-01 is an SMC type VX21 series 2-port direct-acting solenoid valve. It is a normally closed (N.C.) valve with a 1/8" port and 3 mm orifice, designed for controlling media such as water, air, oil, and—in suitable configurations—steam.

Working Principle

The VX2120-01 uses a direct-acting poppet mechanism. Unlike a pilot-operated diaphragm valve, the solenoid directly actuates the main sealing element.

Coil de-energized: valve remains closed.
Coil energized: the poppet lifts and opens the flow path.
Power removed: the valve returns to the normally closed position.

This direct-acting structure is useful where the valve needs to operate without relying on a large pilot pressure differential.
